Alessandra Stivani nasce a Bologna nel 1972, dove frequenta il Liceo Artistico e poi la scuola di scultura del Maestro F.M. Franchi presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti.  In seguito, frequenta il corso “Proposte didattiche sull’arte contemporanea” alla Galleria d’arte di Bologna. Collabora con alcune scuole curando corsi di didattica dell’arte e manipolazione della ceramica. Ha insegnato al Liceo Artistico di Bologna.
Nel 2000 vince il II Premio al concorso Nazionale di Scultura e Grafica indetto dal Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali Italiano.

Utilizza per le sue sculture diversi materiali quali terracotta, ceramica, bronzo, gesso, vetroresina, marmo e pietra, legno, spesso assemblandone diversi e affiancandogli disegni intelati. Opera su diverse scale fino ad arrivare alla scultura ambientale.

Un tema ricorrente nei suoi lavori è l’equilibrio oscillante fra due poli, siano essi un umano e un naturale, due diversi materiali, o il passato e il presente, giocando sul recupero di ciò che pare perduto e ciò che è attuale.

Dal 1994 espone in diverse mostre sul territorio nazionale.



Alessandra Stivani was born in Bologna in 1972, where she attended the Art School and then the sculpture school of Maestro F.M. Franchi at the Academy of Fine Arts. Later, she attended the course "Educational proposals on contemporary art" at the Art Gallery in Bologna. She collaborates with some schools taking care of art teaching and ceramic manipulation courses. She taught at the Artistic Lyceum of Bologna.
In 2000 she won the II Prize in the National Sculpture and Graphics competition organized by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage.
For her sculptures she uses different materials such as terracotta, ceramic, bronze, plaster, fiberglass, marble and stone, wood, often assembling different ones and placing side by side drawings on them. She works on different scales up to the environmental sculpture.
A recurring theme in her works is the oscillating balance between two poles, be they a human and a natural, two different materials, or the past and the present, playing on the recovery of what seems lost and what is current.
Since 1994 she has partecipated in various exhibitions in Italy.
