Terre Rare

Marianne Orly nasce a Parigi nel 1953. Con un background di costume designer, si occupa di gioielli d'autore dal 1983, quando nasce la sua prima collezione "Glacons", ancora oggi in produzione. Nel giro di pochi anni, accanto alla produzione di proprie linee, si affianca l'attività per l'alta moda francese, con collaborazioni con Thierry Mugler e Dior. Dal 2003 ha poi inizio la collaborazione decennale con il Moma store di New York e a seguire anche con il Moma di San Francisco. 
Marianne lavora la resina, un materiale versatile che si presta a mille trasformazioni e apre il campo delle possibilità del fatto a mano. Molto più malleabile e meno restrittiva del vetro, la resina ha tutte le qualità della trasparenza, consentendo la creazione di gioielli con trame, riflessi, colori e iridescenza che possono alternativamente imitare legno, marmo, pietra, ghiaccio. La natura è l'ispirazione principale per le sue collezioni.

Marianne Orly was born in Paris in 1953. With a costume designer background, she has been in charge of contemporary jewelery since 1983, when her first "Glacons" collection was born, still in production today. In just a few years, alongside the production of her own lines, there is also the activity for French haute couture, with collaborations with Thierry Mugler and Dior. From 2003 she began the ten-year collaboration with the Moma store in New York and to follow also with the Moma of San Francisco.
Marianne works in resin, a versatile material that lends itself to a thousand transformations and opens the field of possibilities of the handmade. Much more malleable and less restrictive than glass, resin has all the qualities of transparency, enabling the creation of warm jewels whose sensual textures, strange reflections, fascinating colors, and iridescence can alternately imitate wood, marble, stone, ice. Nature is the primary inspiration for her collections,
